Christmas Present Collection Drive

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the collection for Christmas presents for local orphans and those in foster care.  Through your generous giving we were able to buy wish list items for 6 local toddlers and teenagers.  We also collected a trunk load of jeans that orphans can use throughout the year as part of Children's Home Society "Jingle Jeans" program.  You have made Christmas much brighter for these kids!

Orphan Sunday Kickoff of New Orphan Care Ministry

On Sunday, November 8, 2009 we launched our new orphan care ministry at Triad Baptist Church.  The new ministry is named Miles of Hope Orphan Care.  Since November 8 is recognized nationally as Orphan Sunday we thought it was a very appropriate day to start the new ministry.

 
The goals of the new ministry are:

  • Raise awareness and provide education on the plight of the orphan and children in waiting.
  • Hold collections and drives for orphans.
  • Sponsor short term mission trips to orphanages.
  • Support and encourage adoptive families.
